Chief Science Officer
Josip collaborates with SinnovaTek scientists and engineers to achieve and maintain the scientific integrity of our methods and technologies and superior functional, nutritional and sensory quality of products produced. He also participates in defining the strategies for initiation, development and deployment of SinnovaTek innovations and establishment of a robust and varied portfolio of intellectual property assets.
Josip has dedicated his professional efforts to initiation and support of technological progress in continuous flow and advanced thermal processing of foods and biomaterials, with a special emphasis on rapid volumetric processing and safety validation of resulting products. His contributions to these areas span over 25 years and have so far resulted in 15 issued, 8 pending US and numerous international patents and have been incorporated in 7 new large scale industrial processing plants, generating over 100 new food products introduced to the institutional and retail markets in North America and Europe.
Josip has a PhD in Food Science from North Carolina State University, an MS in Food Science and Human Nutrition from University of Florida and a BS in Food Technology from Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, Croatia. He will read anything, but prefers convoluted fiction delivered in conventional book format, enjoys the hands-on experience of combining elements from various technologies that yield counter-intuitive prototypes and contraptions and he closely identifies with the evil kid from Toy Story I. Josip is perpetually awed by the talents and potential of SinnovaTek team members.
